The other evening while reading "Sewing Green" by Betz White I came across the novel idea of morsbags. Morsbags are hand-crafted fabric bags designed to take the place of plastic bags. What makes them really cool is the idea that the bags are sewn together by collective group of sewers known as a "pod". These pods of sewers then proceed to distribute the bags to unsuspecting shoppers at local stores, hence the title "Sociable Guerilla Bagging". One can even obtain tags for their bags from the makers website to perpetuate this guerilla bagging.
I am so stoked over this idea. For Christmas I had given away several bags as presents. I had been toying with the idea of making bags for the ladies I work with. I think now I am going to create my own pod (and hopefully recruit some other girls to help sew).
The website is www.morsbags.com
